More prepreations for RIAdventure
I just signed up for an account at Cruise Critic and started a thread on their forums.
This site was recommended to me by cruse veteran Hope Wharton. Some pointers that were passed along I will post here;
In Nassau do this:..get off the ship and walk down under the big welcome to Nassau sign - Yellow and bright...there will be a ton of cabbies there offering you tours, You want to ask them how much for a tour of the island that INCLUDES a tour of Atlantis as well. For 25 per person they should do this, no more, otherwise on board the ship they will charge 60 to 80.
This should take you through some of the more extravagant places on the isle as well as the "real" homes including some real silly shit you wouldn't thing you would see... funny as hell..have cameras ready... Remember to take the cabbies card..... there ARE cabs that leave from the main lobby at Atlantis ALL day that go back to the ship, you can then stay at Atlantis and walk around OR go back to the ship.
Atlantis is cool, its a QUICK walk through on their tour. Another options is this... get off the boat, call Atlantis, tell them you want a room (should be $99 for 1 night), check in, you get FULL access to entire grounds all day while in port, slides (thru shark reef) everything... then just drop ur keys in check out box and go back to boat when u need to.
You gotta work em a little, they want your money! J**** wanted a nike hat and talked em down 4 bucks at one of the stands in the shopping area in nassau...OOOOH, you have long hair, your going to hear this a lot "I braid your hair for you", every other person, "cheap i do cheap"
