Win a WOW account / Go on a cruise with ME!

Josh is having a contest over at UsefullConcept.com

Its time to hold a contest!  One winner, and anyone can participate.  All to promote my RIAdventure cruise this February.  (social cruise for CF/Flex/AIR geeks and family from Miami to Bahamas)

The questions you have to answer are:

1) List your top reason someone should go to RIAdventure.
2) List your top reason you want to try out WOW (world of warcraft).

and my answers were:

I got this one...

Why should some one go to RIAdventure... cuz I'm gonna be there! (along with other top developers in the industry)

My top reason to try out WOW... All the "cool kids" are doing it... and I'm just a lemming.

Got my passport today!

Yes, I have never had a passport before now. It is fairly easy to get one, doesn't cost two arms and three legs, and was aquirred relitivaly quick.

Though not really required for RIAdventure, it was strongly recommended.

Jim, my youngest brother Jordan and Myself called the local post office to get an appointment to get our photos taken and paperwork filled out. Jim and I had already got our applications several months earlier and Jordan filled his out online. After arriving for our appointments Jim and I found out that the applications we had filled out were not any good, and had to fill out new ones.

After filling out new applications, getting out picture taken (twice) it was time to pay up. The post office we were out didn't take Credit Cards for the Application Fee, but did take Credit Cards for the Execution Fee and Photo Fee. Once again Jordan was "Johnny on the spot" and was able to write check for each of us to pay the Application Fee and have it sent along with our original birth certificates. (In Maryland if you don't have an original birth certificate you can go down to your local health department and get and original printed on the spot for about $20)

That all took place about a week ago, I checked my mail today and there it was. They sent my birth certificate and passport in separate envelopes (for security i guess?).

So, it was a painless process, not to expensive (about $160), and really quick, at least according to the Application Processing Times listed on their site.

More prepreations for RIAdventure

I just signed up for an account at Cruise Critic and started a thread on their forums.

This site was recommended to me by cruse veteran Hope Wharton. Some pointers that were passed along I will post here;
